Regularly invited by schools to educate issues on disabilities, Syin-Lu’s colleagues have been thinking how to make the advocacy campaign more interactive. So it is not just a one-way lecture from the speaker to audience. How to make the activity livelier? Let students have deeper impressions.

We discover that through gaming activity, it can facilitate student’s participation and increase effectiveness of the campaign. Therefore, Syin-Lu develop a board game about disabilities!

Through gaming, the participant will learn 6 different type of disabilities and their characteristics: intellectual disability, autism, physical disability, mental disability, hearing disability, visual disability.

You will learn the type of difficulties people with disabilities will encounter on the road.

And figure out how to help them.

Who can participate?

  • School – elementary school and higher (board game is suitable for 8-years-old and above)
    • Student – we recommend one class or one club per session. Please reserve 40-50 minutes per session and maximum of 30 participants per session.
    • Teacher - If you are a teacher, we welcome you and your colleagues to go through the experience first. You can then use the materials in your class.
  • Corporate - team building event, family day, charity sales day
  • Community – community activities, parent- child activities

How much time is needed?

  • Fixed numbers of participants
    1. Introduction to Syin-Lu - 5 minutes 2. Gameplay explaination - 10 minutes 3. Play game - 15min 4. Discussion - 10min
  • Number of participants varied
    1. Make new friends - 5minutes/per group 2. Disabiliy experience (small game contest) 5 minutes/ each time
